Minister Noel Treacy T.D. Officiates at the Presentation of ISO 9001:2000 to Coffey Construction.

At a special ceremony, the coveted ISO 9001:2000 certificate was presented to Coffey Construction in the Castlegate Hotel, Athenry by Minister Noel Treacy T.D..  Also present at the event was Chief Executive Officer of the NSAI, Mr Simon Kelly.

Coffey Construction employ 500 people in Ireland and a further 170 in the UK, and had a turnover in excess of Euro80m. Such flag ship projects undertaken by Coffey Construction include the Tuam RWSS, Loughrea SS, Galway Eastern Approach Road, Croom Bypass and the Nenagh Bypass.

Minister Treacy acknowledged that Coffey Construction were the West of Ireland's biggest civil engineering contractors who saw all of Ireland and the UK as their area of endeavor. The Minister, who postponed an overseas official visit to officiate at the ceremony, wished Coffey Construction continued success on this the 30th anniversary of their foundation. He paid tribute to Coffey Construction commenting, ""Not only were Coffey Construction Athenry's largest employer, but they have put back into the community the fruits of their labour through sponsorship of the famous Athenry hurling club together with providing for other local needs"".

Mr Tom Coffey, Director Coffey Construction in response thanked the Minister and the NSAI for their contribution in front of the 150 guests who attended the event.
